Laughter Yoga
When I first went to laughter yoga, I was very sceptical…but I have been converted.
The thing that I enjoy most is the role play where we pretend to be at the zoo or at the seaside and I am able to be childlike, ready to enjoy just being alive. I leave in a frame of mind which is more open to appreciate life as it is.
There are mind-challenges, songs, activities which are fun, and rather than smile politely, we laugh.
We always end with five minutes of relaxation, where our leader talks us through a calming, soothing scenario but I am afraid I tend to drift off as I am so relaxed.
Yes, laughter yoga put me outside my comfort zone, but it gave me the insight to value laughter – and that is invaluable!
